The R-Podcast has landed in Orlando for the first ever rstudio::conf! Our coverage begins with two excellent interviews: First I talk with Bárbara Borges Ribeiro, software engineer at RStudio about her journey to using R and her advice for developing Shiny apps. Then Dean Attali makes his return to the show and we discuss R’s role in his graduate research and his experiences as a Shiny consultant. Barbara Borges

Barbara is a software engineer at RStudio working primarily in the Shiny package. She holds a double major in Statistics and Computer Science from Macalester College. After four freezing Minnesota winters, she is back in her warm homeland of Portugal (but to the disappointment of many, she’s not a soccer fan).

Dean Attali

Dean is a R/Shiny consultant leading his own consulting company of AttaliTech Ltd. Dean was previously a software engineer at Google and top San Fransisco startup Wish.com. He is the author of several R packages such as shinyjs, timevis, addinslist, and more.

Eric Nantz

Eric Nantz is a principal research scientist at a large life sciences company, creating innovative analytical pipelines and capabilities supporting study designs and analyses. Outside of his day job, Eric is passionate about connecting with the R community as the creator/host of the R-Podcast, Shiny Developer Series, and a curator / podcast host for the R Weekly project. Plus, he likes to share his adventures with R and general computing on Twitch livestreams at twitch.tv/rpodcast.
